Empowered Living
Easter, or should I say Resurrection Sunday, and the celebration of our redemption and gift of eternal life because of what Jesus did for each one of us on the cross has now passed. However, I want to encourage you not to stop there. There is more to our faith than just salvation! God has much more for us. So often we focus on the destination of Heaven that we forget about the journey here on the earth. We fell to realize that God wants us to walk in the authority of the Kingdom of Heaven.
The disciples came to Jesus and asked him, “teach us to pray”. Jesus responded by teaching them the Lord’s prayer... “And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth…” (Luke 11:2). Notice Jesus stated the Kingdom of Heaven can come on earth through the authority of the believer! God wants and desires that we move beyond salvation and live an empowered life to overcome the daily grind to which many fall and struggle! You have the right to walk in authority! You have the right to rule over your emotions instead of your emotions ruling of you! You have the right to understand that you are a son or daughter of the creator of the universe.
The only way to live the God kind of empowered life is to embrace the third part of the trinity of God, the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit has many different roles in our lives. He empowers, strengthens, advises, comforts, anoints, and so many other amazing things to empower our lives! Today, I encourage you to pause the business in your life and be intentional and embrace this amazing gift that God has bestowed on us. In the next few weeks at Access Church, I will be speaking about this critical subject and how you can possess it in your life!
